Acrylic nesting tables would be a practical alternative to the glass coffee table? My coffee table is wood with a glass top and I hate how hard it is when I put something on it and I'm paranoid it will break. But I really like the look of all acrylic nesting tables in a modern and I'm debating on purchasing, but I wonder if my friends and I would be too awkward guest afraid to use them. Acrylic things I own are not furniture, but they are pretty indestructible. opinions? Insight?
Acrylic is softer than glass then a sound less fragile when it hits stuff. On the other hand, coasters and placemats have been (at least in part) devised to meet deaf and rattling. Sure, being softer, it is more likely to show scratches.
