Buffet B12 Clarinet

Buffet B12 ClarinetHow much should I sell my Buffet B12 clarinet?

It is in very good condition with no defects. And I also have a nice protective case and a few other things like tying extra reeds, cleaning stuff ...
How much should I expect?
And if I should keep for a long period and sell it later, can I get more?

Unfortunately, the B12 is a Buffet clarinet model student. It is made of plastic (ABS resin) ... and even if it is a good clarinet, you will not get much for it.

You should figure about half the original price and then subtract $ 50 for new shoes, etc. (even if it does not really need them). So if you bought it for $ 500, you should get about $ 200.

Now, with the case (ProTech is popular and durable), and depending on reeds (Vandoren are they?! - And new !?)... you could probably add that back $ 50. The beak and ligation are worthless if they are pro models ... If you're still using those from the Horn, they are worthless.

Even if you kept that horn 100 years, it would not be more. The horns are who appreciate the value a) Pro models with premium materials (ebony, cocobolo, rosewood), b) were a limited edition (only 1000 or less done), or c) were owned by a clarinetist significant (ie, Benny Goodman, Artie Shaw, etc.).

Sorry it is not worth more, but good luck trying to sell!

PS-You can take your music store and see if you could do a job for a downpayment on an upgrade? Not all stores will do, but it's worth asking! :)

$ 250 - $ 300.
