Futon Sofa

I have a free futon couch thing with a removable lid. The cover is a velvety thick. Is it machine washable? I thought maybe because it was so easy to remove it was probably intended to be washed, but it's hard to say. There is no tag or anything.

You can wash with warm water or cold. Hang to dry or lint in a dryer cold. Since the dryer does most of the decline I would not dry with all the warmth, but if it's probably removable washable. It seems that his polyester is not afraid, but why take a chance.
