Ive bought a couple of tomato plants, but have no garden to grow in a simple concrete patio area. Would it be allowed to grow them in a plastic storage box elder (big enough, I use it to store 12-inch vinyl po if ok I'll drill holes in the bottom for drainage, but soil is preferable buy?

This may be your best option. http://www.pubs.ext.vt.edu/426/426-336/4 ...

Miracle grow is ideal for vegetables. planting.

Just dirt - Top-soil will be from tomatoes, as even clay soils. Be sure to keep watered regularly on a regular basis and lots of sun. Irregular watering may cause them to separate. They'll need a cage or something to support them. Feed frequently - Miracle growth is the best.
